my good foodie friend, deya and i wanted to visit san antonio’s new 5-star hotel, hotel emma. we kept hearing about all the details of this luxury hotel and how it looks nothing like anything else in san antonio. let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. the amount of detail that went into this hotel makes it out of this world. from the florals down to the elevator buttons, this hotel is stunningly beautiful.
hotel emma houses a variety of culinary experiences and cocktails through their restaurant named “supper” their coffee and pastry shop, named “larder” and in-between the two lies the visually stunning bar, sternewirth. we decided to stop in for lunch at supper. funny sentence, huh? lunch at supper? no? okay.
our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered a variety of recommendations. you could tell she had a passion for food through her hand gestures and her voice when she described the menu. the customer service was impeccable.
we started with a spinach and ricotta gnudi with artichoke, tomatoes and capers. the starter was delicious! the capers added so much flavor and crunch. i’ve never tasted gnudi before and i was so pleased with it. our server definitely hit the mark with this recommendation. isn’t it pretty, too?
i decided to order a BLT with basil aioli and avocado on nine grain bread. i love bacon. i love avocado. so duh, it was a no brainer. plus, their bacon is made in house.
deya order chicken salad with roasted grapes and pecans on a toasted croissant. her croissant looked so flaky, buttery and delicious. mmm, bread. both plates came with handmade chips with roasted herb seasoning. delicious! even though my BLT was only half a sandwich, it was so large in size that it’s all you needed.
supper is located inside hotel emma at 136 e. grayson along the riverwalk.
